Got back from Dubai a few days ago.
Life has been…intense heh.
In just the last 2.5-weeks:
We ran a live gameshow I hosted and gave away $100,000, had 225 of our graduates fly out for N&W IRL in SF, and then the following week had 125 of our graduates fly out for N&W IRL in Dubai.
A lotta travel.
A lotta public speaking.
A lotta hustling.
Everything has gone…surprisingly well.
There’s some stuff that could have gone better of course, and we’ve noted that down for S4…but overall I can’t believe how well it all went.
Now?
I’m just chilling at my parent’s house.
It’s a bit sad, to be honest.
For months, you put your all into something for such an extended period of time, and once it’s out in the world and people enjoy it— you don’t know what to do with yourself after and kinda fall into a mini depression for a week.
At least that’s what happens to me.
When building, you often work in these sprints where you get a lot done, recover, get a lot done, recover. In between getting a lot done and recovering, there’s this space.
And, that space is where I’m at right now.
S3 is over. And, now there’s some time before S4 starts.
It’s a weird space to be in.
You’re anxious to start the next thing, you’re worried if the next thing will be better than the last thing, you’re beating yourself over tiny mistakes, you’re sad that the previous thing is already over, you’re excited to try out your new ideas in the next iteration.
It’s just a lotta emotions at once.
I’m extremely happy at my core, of course.
I mean — look at the four finalists of S3:
A group of directors, a game developer, a musician, and a farmer.
These are just 4 of the 450 graduates of S3.
Words can’t describe how happy I am with the diversity of ideas this season. From the day buildspace was created — I was always saying how one day buildspace would be a place for people to work on any idea.
Years of iteration later, we’re finally starting to see it happen.
Here’s what 450 new ideas created looks like btw, just scroll around to get a sense of the scale — I feel like in todays day and age where Mark Z has 3 billion users its hard to understand what 450 really means.
Anyways, gonna try and rest now.
As always, excited af for the future.
Can’t wait to get back to the office and start cooking up what’s next.
Gonna be wild.
P.S: we’re finishing construction on our first physical school, more on that soon :).
Title is clickbait!!! you've got matcha + a bag of houjicha I brought you 🤝😂
rest well lad, was a pleasure to see you and buildspace in person.
have a peaceful rest brother, we gon be back for s4
